DINNER PROGRAM:

 

The Nick's Place residents, Residential Director, Rhea & Barry McVicker, and assorted alumni eat a family style meal together Monday through Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Each meal of the week is used for a family and recovery oriented open. The topics for each night are as follows:

  • Monday:   Where U At? –An open discussion to give each resident the chance to share their experiences from the weekend and to disclose any issues to the family for the upcoming week.

  • Tuesday:   Grateful Tuesday –An open discussion focusing on gratitude and the positive aspects of recovery.

  • Wednesday:   Be The Teacher  –Each resident takes a week to research, reach out to the recovery network, and prepare a lesson on an assigned recovery topic to be presented to the family. Open discussion follows.

  • Thursday:   Get It Out! –Allows each of the residents to present recovery issues and topics to one another that they are currently dealing with and for which they need to be held accountable.
